Time and again having a college degree means that you have sufficient knowledge and is qualified for a particular kind of job and because not everyone possess a college degree having one is tantamount to immediate employment. However, currently there are many queries on where a college degree will get you. Employers no longer look exclusively for people who have diplomas. More important is having the training and on the job experience to do the job. 

Firms and employers have recognized that the problem with college is that it teaches you to do very little. College students need to go to a lot of courses, majority of which are not related to their primary courses. There are no hands-on courses. Most classes are lecture classes, in rooms filled with many other students. Most companies would prefer to hire people that have experience related to the job in order to ensure that he or she is capable of doing his or her job right. Technical schools offer courses that are now regarded highly by many companies because students from technical schools underwent intensive training and are taught by specialists in their various fields. 

Some students find it more beneficial to attend technical schools rather than get a college degree. Technical schools offer courses that are more inexpensive than those courses offered in college, these programs cost around $5,000-$100,000, of course this will rely on the school that you choose. As mentioned technical schools are more inexpensive and a program can cost around a few hundred dollars to $2,000. In a technical school you don’t have to worry about fulfilling requirements for subjects that are not related to your major because technical schools tend to focus on specific programs. With college, it is so time consuming that most individuals wind up having to cut back their hours at their jobs or stop altogether. This puts a monetary strain on, because university fees can be costly. 

Another problem with university is that there is little opportunity for work using the college. Educational institutions used to be known for setting up their pupils with jobs at excellent companies, or internships at prestigious companies. Unfortunately, these companies barely seek colleges for help in recruitment of future employees. The college employment office usually just helps students create resumes now and trains them for interviews, however, they do not find paying jobs for students, unlike a technical school. 

Today, where a college degree will get you is uncertain. An increasing number of individuals are taking courses with degrees, but there is a decreasing number of companies that are hiring employees. Colleges are inept to truly educate students and teach them a job. Educational institutions are there for the background knowledge you need to carry out the job, and employers know this.
